AMAVASYA is the first 'ever' Bengali metal band. The band boasts of a wide range of compositions starting from acoustic ballads to thrash metal to death metal.
AMAVASYA is a pretty well known name in the city's band scenario and enjoys a good fan base.
Inspired from music and life in totality, AMAVASYA has compositions which cover a variety of genres. Steve himself has been an inspiration for a lot of new musicians who have played with him.
Formed way back when there was no metal act in Bengali, AMAVASYA has come a long way and have gone through many line-up changes till date. Presently the band is back doing live concerts and have some more plans in the making.
The main vision of the band is to spread music which is sincere, dedicated and comes out from the heart. AMAVASYA believes that there is always a musical explaination to what the band plays in each song....nothing is played for the sake of it.
